From start to finish, our whole experience with Anastasia and Aori villa was wonderful! I was looking for a place where my husband and I and our grown children could spend 6 days living in a home and really getting away from the tourist scene. Aori villa was perfect! It is a very beautiful villa on a hillside overlooking an incredibly beautiful valley. Our host responded quickly and warmly to every inquiry and provided lots of information on hikes. When we arrived we met Anastasia and her husband in a local village and followed them to the villa. There they greeted us with a lovely basket of local products and goodies, explained how everything worked and gave us suggestions about places to go. They even sent along a delicious Greek spinach and cheese specialty dish days after we arrived. They were lovely. The villa is simply GORGEOUS, spacious, very new and spotless. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. We used herbs from the garden and made a cherry pie from the cherries on a tree in the yard! The pictures are accurate but there is no way to capture the beauty of the area and the spectacular views. For those who want a rural experience, peace and quiet and gorgeous views of olive groves, mountains, the sunset and starey nights, this is the place. It is a gem. The villa is located in the central part of western Crete so it is easy to travel to Hania, Paleochora, different beaches and wonderful rural villages. The lovely town of Kandanos is only minutes away with good food, supermarkets and most everything you might need. You must have a car and be ready to drive the narrow roads of the area. We have been warmly received by Anastasia and her mother. The Aori villa is really beautiful, very spacious and conforms with the AIRBNB description. Our host offered us many local products as cretan wine or olive oil which had been very appreciated by our family. After a very hot trip from the Heraklion's airport to Kandanos, many drinks were waiting for us in the fridge, these was really a very nice attention. During our stay in Aori house, Anastasia sent us different messages, places to see, hikes to do and of course where we could eat good foods and all her advices were really fantastics. If you want discover Crete and all its preserved landscapes, the Aori house will be the place to go. Thank you very much to Anastasia.

Very nice, helpful and uncomplicated reception on the spot. Well equipped, nice house. Perfect for the family holiday. Car rental absolutely recommendable.

Magnificent view from the terrace over olive groves to the White Mountains. Quiet, great for individual tourists. Car hire necessary. Samaria and Agia Irini gorge are in an hour, Paleochora and Sougia as a starting point for beautiful coastal walks and boat trips are in 20 min to reach. Beautiful sandy beaches, hidden coves, many tavernas and good shopping in and around Paleochora, also in 10 minutes away Kandanos there are shopping possibilities and a few tavernas. Nice welcome from the host even on the very late evening, some typical Cretan specialties and everything you needed for a delicious breakfast was provided by the hosts. So immediately after getting up the next morning on the lovely terrace with wonderful views our first vacation day. Started with a breakfast. The e-mail contact with the hosts before and during the holiday was very good.

Beautiful villa, the enchanted view , the nature the early sun rise, it was like paradise early morning, the wind was amazing. The generosity of the owners lovely baskets with all kind of goodies, thank you. The privacy was important to us; we found everything in the house, very immaculate clean. We definitely go back to this villa. The beauty of the so many trees, we enjoy it the cherry tomatoes, the figs, the pears, the olives were not ready. People in the village were very friendly excellent restaurants delicious food. The beaches were the highlight of Greece. Thank you so much.
